Today as I began to continue the story of our amazing journey from Costa Rica to Maya Tulum I looked out the window and saw something strange in the backyard.  I ran downstairs and discovered a magnificent hawk was caught, hanging form the cosmic spider web that is woven directly above the sacred spiral.  The spiral was created on the first lunar eclipse at the time of the Full Moon in June and is a powerful source of healing for those who walk it.  It sits on a very strong vortex and the telluric energy pulls one deep into the earth mother making an amazing connection of the heart and the earth.  When one walks the spiral one begins to remember their souls journey, and clarity can come.  It also serves as a portal of energy to heal and nurture the spirit and the body.  So many amazing things occur inn this enchanted yard and here was yet another one.

I called to my husband to grab gloves or a towel as the hawk has very sharp talons and a razor sharp beak. When I looked into the eyes of this beautiful creature all fear left and I simply reached out to hold this magnificent animal. I began to speak to him and he became very calm allowing me to hold him as he just surrendered into my hands.  Guy returned with scissors and I gently handed the bird to him as I cut the wire that he had somehow managed to become entangled in.  Once we were able to free him I began to delicately unwind the fish line that was wrapped around his wing.  He never once called out and never moved.  Just remained perfectly still, watching my every move.  When he was completely free I held him close and felt such love and gratitude coming from this being.  What a special moment I had been gifted to be able to hold such a beautiful, wild creature.  I carried him to the lawn and set him on the ground.

I know that the Native American culture identifies the hawk as a powerful messenger. It often appears in our life when we need to pay attention to the subtle messages found in our surroundings and from those we come in contact with. As with all messages received it is important to recognize its underlying truth.  The broader vision of the hawk allows them to see what the future holds. In man this symbolizes prophetic insight. The hawk is an amazing hunter. Once the hawk has secured the prey with its powerful talons, the bird dismembers it with its sharply pointed, strong beak. In man, this suggests that we can run but we cannot hide from our destiny. Sooner of later it will catch up with us. The destiny of all humankind is to awaken from their spiritual amnesia and realign with the original intention of their soul. When the hawk flies into our life we will be asked to evaluate who we have become and rip out the threads of our self created illusions. This enables our inner truth to surface. Hawk signifies union with Great Spirit. A bird of the heavens the hawk orchestrates the changes necessary for our spiritual growth. Having this totem can be bitter sweet. If we accept its presence in our life we will be asked to surrender anything that doesn’t honor the integrity of all life. Be it an idea, a feeling or an action. Although hard work is involved the rewards the hawk offers us are great.

In both Celtic and Native traditions, Hawk is known as the messenger. In the Arthurian tradition, the Merlin (a kind of hawk) was the head Druid and respected as the Messenger of the Gods.  While many birds are regarded as messengers between the worlds of spirit and matter, Hawk is considered to be more dedicated to this role. Hawk, while soaring high in the sky, is always alert to the slightest movement on the ground below. When we cultivate that kind of awareness, we are adjusting our vibrations to receive the messages that we want to hear. In this state, we find synchronicity operating.   Not all of our answers come from the outside world. Hawk also stands for inner vision, drawing on our own intuition and psychic awareness. When we trust ourselves, and are receptive to answers whatever their source, we soar with Hawk. Hawk brings a message for us to keep our eyes (both physical & spiritual) focused on the areas that most require our attention. Specifically, the hawk beckons us to focus on the areas that are out of balance in our lives.

Because this animal came to me in the sacred spiral which symbolizes our journey and was caught in the web it became clear that this was not only a personal message for me,  but also an important message for all of us as we are all connected through the cosmic spider web that joins us together.  I will be leaving for Switzerland the beginning of November to teach a seminar on the teachings of Grandmother Spider Woman and our connection to each other so I knew there was more information to be shared with me this day to pass on to those who would be attending.    As I sat with my own Hawk Feather in the Spiral I felt the presence of Chief Seattle and wanted to share these words with you, as they are timely and so very powerful.

“What is man without the beasts? If all the beasts were gone, man would die from a great loneliness of spirit. For whatever happens to the beasts soon happens to man. All things are connected. You must teach your children that the ground beneath their feet is the ashes of our grandfathers. So that they will respect the land, tell your children that the earth is rich with the lives of our kin. Teach your children what we have taught our children, that the earth is our mother. Whatever befalls the earth befalls the sons of the earth. Man did not weave the web of life, he is merely a strand in it. Whatever he does to the web, he does to himself.  Even the white man, whose God walks and talks with him as friend to friend, cannot be exempt from the common destiny. We may be brothers after all. We shall see. One thing we know, which the white man may one day discover –our God is the same God. You may think now that you own Him as you wish to own our land: but you cannot. He is the God of man, and His compassion is equal for the red man and the white. This earth is precious to Him, and to harm the earth is to heap contempt upon its Creator.

Check back soon as the journey continues to Maya Tulum and what an amazing journey it was.

  1. Wow, what an amazing story. Cuddlebear says the message is big. We too had an encounter with hawk that day. We looked up and saw two birds circling, after watching for a moment, we realized it was a hawk and a crow. They were deffinatey interacting with each other in a way we’ve never seen. They circled around and would get so close to each other, sometimes flying together, other around each other. We watched for at least five minutes until they flew so high we couldn’t see them any more. Not sure what that means (cuddlebear says theres a message there too). He (gary-cuddlebear) also met with hawk outside Sandy’s window that day. Very interesting. As usual, your words make this world a better place. Thank you for being you and sharing you with us. Aloha

  2. I am replying to the most beautiful message from the sacred spiral. It brought me to tears-literally…
Looking at you holding this magnificent animal and looking at the predicament and attachment to the spiral remembering the earth and we are all related that to teach all those
children, ours and others that our kin are embossed in the earth upon which we stand. This is a very powerful message-and heartfelt at that..
Have a wonderful day and know that you bring the wonderment back into all of our lives who are so privileged to find you again.

    Sunshine hugs and your magick.

  3. Past 2 nights I’ve been bathed in color in my dreams.Magenta permeated air and rooms in 1st dream. Next night, 1st many shades of golden
    > yellows in a room followed by varied hues of azure blues emanating from 2 segmented pillars.In 1st I was aware of being in a higher dimension;
    > in y and blues undergoing a healing cleanse. Anybody else in your circle going thru similar stuff?

    1. Many people have indeed been feeling and dreaming of the magenta ray
and the sense of being taken through a cleansing and healing process.
As we begin to find one another again and our spiritual community
continues to grow there is such a feeling of support as the light grows.
This increased energy then calls beings from other realms to join as
well. The place that you describe is found in the ancient city of Telos
that exists in the etheric at Mount Shasta in the great healing temple.
This is also the place that the great healing stone emanates light
frequencies to the earth to help mankind.

  4. I check your page at the very least once a week and I just want to say Thank you, for so many reasons.
