March is a month to energize and encourage us as we begin the next Hero’s journey of our soul. There is potent energy for birthing a new expression of you as we continue to grow and evolve with the assistance of the celestial bodies.
Full Moon in Virgo on March 7, 2023
This full moon will be in the earth sign of Virgo. Virgo is practical, precise, discerning, and is the sign that is designed to bring order to chaos. The tightest aspect this full moon will make is a trine to Uranus. This is significant as it has ties to the last full moon in Leo that took place on February 5th. The Leo full moon was surrounded by intense astrology and brought opportunities for things to come to the surface that may have been shocking, hidden, or been put on the back burner for a while. This may have created some upheaval in different areas of life, I identify these as emotional disturbances. With the Virgo full moon and its harmonious trine to Uranus, things that may have been rocky since last month can begin to even out and find resolution and balance. This full moon will also be making a quincunx to Venus and a square to Mars. These aspects are not as exact as the trine to Uranus, and are therefore not considered as potent, however the energy will still be present on this day. A quincunx and a square are tense aspects in astrology, and this full moon creating these aspects to these planets may call for moments of patience, taking our time to respond to something, especially if there is a misunderstanding or miscommunication, and finding time to allow ourselves to go within if we feel our emotions running high.
As an earth sign, the Moon in Virgo ignites a sense of purpose and the need to be doing something productive. This is an excellent moon to identify where you are making excuses and what you have been putting off. Procrastination is the enemy of progress. This full moon can illuminate the truth behind the excuses or distractions we make. With the clarity you have gained over the last couple of months, you may discover the dream you hold on to is no longer the same dream. Take the time to write down the ONE thing that keeps stopping you from moving forward. The full moon in Virgo highlights the changes we need to make for a healthier lifestyle. This Full moon will provide an amazing time to make positive changes to your diet and lifestyle to support your overall health for the long term. I have posted a ritual for the Virgo Full moon. Saturn shifts into Pisces on March 7, 2023
Just under an hour after the exact Virgo full moon, Saturn will shift into Pisces. Saturn shifting into Pisces is one of the key astrological events of 2023. Saturn takes 2.5 years to travel through a sign and has been in Aquarius since December 2020. Saturn will shift into Pisces on March 7th and will be in this sign until the end of 2025, beginning of 2026. Pisces is the sign of mysticism, intuition, inner spirituality, and other worlds. Saturn is the planet of reality, practicality, hard work, and dedication and karma. It is said that Saturn doesn’t sit well in Pisces, however, when two seemingly opposing energies come together, these energies have the chance to balance each other’s shadow sides and bring each other’s highest light to the forefront. With that, Saturn is the planet of goal setting and manifestation, and Pisces is the sign of dreams. Essentially, Saturn in Pisces is helping us figure out what steps we need to take to bring our dreams into form. Now, Saturn in Pisces in its shadow can have us invalidate our own dreams. So, it is important to note that fear may arise when we look at what we would truly like to create or manifest in our lives because we may need to let go of relationships, jobs, limiting behaviors, etc. that have become blocks to making our dreams come true. All in all, this 2.5 years transit of Saturn in Pisces represents an unfolding path that shows how persistent effort and faith-filled action supports us in making our dreams a reality. Remember there is a dream wishing to manifest itself through you. With the strong influence of Saturn shifting into Pisces, this is an excellent opportunity for those who wish to work with their past life stories, to do a Karmic Life Lesson reading. March 20th/21st EQUINOX Celebration – Balance of Shadow and Light
The equinox provides a unique time if you are committed to moving forward to access ancient knowledge. Awareness to the struggle of our human experience between darkness and light. As the Masters have shared with us… As Above …So Below reflects that the natural world is continuously providing us with opportunities to gain insight, and wisdom when we honor the old traditions and follow with sacred ceremony the turning of the wheel by acknowledging the turning of the seasons. This is symbolized by the dark half of the year on one side of the spring equinox sun, and the light half of the year on the other…
This pulling back and forth between light and darkness symbolizes the natural cycle of our universe. It reminds us equal portions of shadow and light exists within everything. This provides the knowledge why on our personal journey, we each will move through times of valleys and other times climb to high peaks. We need both for the balance. It reveals the role of darkness and light in creating movement through its struggle and opposition for our own personal growth.
In the Northern Hemisphere we celebrate the Spring Equinox or Vernal Equinox. In the Southern Hemisphere it is the turning of the season as we move into Fall with the Autumn Equinox. Regardless of where you find yourself, it is one of two nights when there is equal portions of light and dark creating an opportunity to bring into balance our shadow and light, male and female. Indeed, a time of celebration and honoring the old ways aligning with the natural world to receive the healing energies offered at this special time. Decisions made at the time of the Equinox will enable you to create a life of Balance. The living energy present at the time of the Equinox embodies a moment of power when two opposing forces come together as one. Rituals to honor these sacred celebrations of life have been posted.
New Moon in Aries on March 21, 2023
The Sun and Moon join together in the first sign of a new astrological cycle. The New Moon in Aries marks the beginning of that new cycle. The New Moon in Aries is a good time to commit to personal goals that express the positive energies of the sign of the Ram. It’s time to take action to try something new and innovative, take charge of our lives; start a brand-new project, and discover our own personal courage. This is a strong cycle to re-evaluate our relationship to ourselves. With this potent Aries energy, we have the chance to make important changes in our lives. It’s time to make some solid yet realistic plans and to set the stage for reaping the rewards from our new beginnings, as little or big as they may be, in approximately two weeks’ time after the Full Moon occurs. Aries is the sign of the Warrior and represents action, courage, strength, and independence.
This new moon takes place at 0 degrees of Aries, and the 0-degree mark of any sign automatically has new moon energy imbued into it. This means this new moon is ramping up the energy of releasing fear and taking courageous action on things we are creating or would like to accomplish. With that said, with such pronounced Aries energy, being grounded and in our bodies while we make decisions and act is key at this time as it can balance Aries’s shadow of impulsivity and reactivity.
Additionally, this new moon is one of the more significant and powerful new moons of the year for several reasons. First, this new moon takes place only one day after the spring equinox in the northern hemisphere/autumn equinox in the southern hemisphere, which amplifies its potency for intention setting. Second, the next new moon after this one, which occurs on April 19th, will also take place in Aries. Two consecutive new or full moons falling in the same sign is an uncommon occurrence and is called a double moon. And third, the April 19th new moon in Aries will be the first solar eclipse of the year! So, be sure to pay attention to what is arising for you during this new moon on March 21st, as it acts as a preview of themes you may be exploring more deeply throughout the first eclipse season of the year, which takes place from April 19th—May 5th.
Aries marks the beginning of a new Hero’s Journey and the best way to gain self-confidence is to do what you are afraid to do. Similar to just jumping into cold water instead of inching your way in. I will be posting a ritual to celebrate the potency of this new moon and a bonus guided meditation to support those who are members of the online subscription series. Taking the time to find stillness and honor the old ways will help one stay centered as we navigate the uncertainty of this 7 year. Focus and forward motion are a necessity.
Pluto Dips into Aquarius on March 23, 2023
Pluto dipping into Aquarius is arguably the most significant astrological event of the year. Pluto takes 248 years to complete one orbit around the Sun, which means that he takes years to travel through an entire zodiac sign. Pluto has been in Capricorn, the sign he is in now, since 2008, so Pluto shifting into Aquarius on March 23rd will be the first time in 15 years that Pluto will be in a new sign. I always take the time to enter the stillness and reflect on how I have grown and the changes that have taken place in my reality since the beginning of this significant event. It has been quite the ride indeed. I am stronger, more aware, more courageous, and more certain that we must take responsibility for creating our own happiness. We all deserve to be happy, but we cannot base that happiness on anyone or anything. I am aware of the old beliefs that I held on to which created limitation and restriction. I am still a work in progress, but I embrace each day with hope and gratitude. I celebrate the challenges and struggles as much as I celebrate the gifts this amazing earth walk provides. I do my very best to look at life through the lens of the heart and try to quiet the chatter in my head. Some days are easier than others. It truly is one day at a time and choosing how we wish to live that day and who we allow into our sacred circle.
It should be noted that due to Pluto’s slow orbit and retrograde periods, he will shift from the last degree of Capricorn to the 0-degree mark of Aquarius 4 times before making his official shift into Aquarius on November 19, 2024, at which time Pluto will be in Aquarius for 20 years! With that, Pluto activating the last degree of a sign, which represents karmic completion, and the first degree of a sign, which represents new beginnings, is powerful, as it indicates that humans, personally and collectively, are being encouraged to fully release what is no longer in alignment with our lives, so that we truly have space for what is aligned.
Pluto is the planet of power, death, and rebirth. It oversees what lies hidden from sight. Aquarius is the sign of community, revolution, change, and the future. It is difficult to predict what could arise during Pluto’s transit through Aquarius, not only because 20 years is a long period of time, but also because Aquarius is the sign of unpredictability. What will be spotlighted is one of the greatest gifts that Pluto in Aquarius signifies, which is the shift of power from the power of the few, to power for all.
