When we honor the eight holy days known as the sabbats we are honoring the ancestors and coming back into alignment with our own personal rhythm. As an earth walker these are important days to find stillness, reset and celebrate the change of seasons. Nature provides messages and guidance for our earth walk if we take the time to listen.
For those who follow the earth traditions, the sacred wheel is turning, as we celebrate Imbolc in the Northern Hemisphere. This holy day is one of the eight Sabbats recognized in the Wheel of the Year. It belongs to everyone as it is not associated with a particular religion and observed from February 1 to sunset on February 2. It marks the beginning of the end of winter and the midpoint between the winter solstice and the spring equinox. It is sometimes seen as a “women’s holiday.” Imbolc celebrations take the form of a festival in honor of the Goddess Brigid, who can be evoked in fertility blessings. She oversees poetry, crafts, artistic expression and prophecy. This is an especially powerful night for artists, writers, dancers, actors, anyone who works with the craft. A time to Embrace creativity and find inspiration in the upcoming season of growth. I have posted rituals to assist you in working with the magick of this night. Please CLICK HERE.
If you are in the Southern Hemisphere, it is a time of celebrating the Sabbat known as Llamas or Lughnasadh. The Wheel of the Year begins to shift from a growing time to a harvest time. The first of three Celtic harvest festivals, the Festival of Bread and fruit is a time when the Sun God begins to weaken, and the days begin to grow shorter as the nights grow longer. This is a powerful night to be reminded that nothing in the universe is consistent and the lesser begins to give way to the greater. The Goddess is honored with traditions and rituals for this night of prosperity, abundance and good fortune are performed. It is a time of change as active growth is slowing down and the darker days of winter and reflection are beckoning. This is a night to celebrate in gratitude. I have posted a ritual to celebrate the turning of the wheel to honor this special time. CLICK HERE
I will be posting the February planetary influences in the next few days as I will be traveling back to Sedona after several months in Maui, but wanted to share the Sabbat holy days of February with each of you. Be gentle with yourself as we prepare for further shifts and changes in this year of Resilience and Manifestation. Find your courage and embrace your magnificence. I continue to offer Soul Life Readings for those who would like assistance in seeing through the lens of the heart to navigate their personal journey.
