a moment of pause to evaluate where you are on your journey as the planets are in a full dance of retrograde activity

sunset

Having spent the last three weeks communing with the natural world I was blessed to walk the Dragon’s Teeth labyrinth in sacred ceremony at the time of the total lunar eclipse.  My time being in the sacred blue has gifted me an opportunity to be with wise elders who shared their wisdom in how to navigate these times of witnessing a world collapsing in preparation for the reality we all wish to create.

Having gone to my favorite spot to snorkel I had an amazing encounter with a school of over 30 unicorn fish.  I could feel the enchanted world opening to share.  I usually see Honu, the beautiful sea turtles when I am in these waters.  I could feel them but did not see them.  I left the water to spend some time meditating on the beach.

Honu beach

Suddenly, the most amazing encounter occurred.  There was Honu coming from the sacred blue to greet me in the realm of the land dweller.  They could have gone anywhere on the beach, but they came out of the water exactly where I had left their world.

Honu beach

The magickal portal where our worlds come together, where the earth meets the water world.  There is a protocol in Hawaii to respect these amazing beings and not approach them.  I sat still as they approached me.  We spent time together and the teaching they shared was profound.

Honu

When you are in a place of gratitude, miracles can happen.  Instead of chasing after something, be still, in silence listen for guidance and all that you seek will come to you.  You must be grounded, centered, and balanced.  You must believe you deserve, and all will come together in the right timing.  With the retrograde line up of planets in June we will all have aha moments of profound insight if we take the time for stillness and time in nature.  Our greatest responsibility as world beliefs shift and old paradigms continue to break down is to bring more joy into the world.

planet Mercury

June 3, 2022 – Mercury goes Direct

Mercury will go direct in Taurus. At the exact time that Mercury goes direct, he will be creating a sextile to two planets, the moon and Neptune. A sextile represents potential, and should we actively work with the potential that these planets create, they will grow into a gift. The moon and Neptune are both highly intuitive planets, and each of them will be in the water signs that they rule, which will amplify their intuitive abilities. Mercury is naturally a logical planet, and in Taurus, an earth sign, Mercury can become extremely logical, to the point that intuition gets repressed. However, the sextile that Mercury will be making to the moon and Neptune when he goes direct, spotlights the importance of working with our intuition over the next 3 months while Mercury is direct. Mercury, Neptune, and the moon are reminding us that the more we trust our own intuition the stronger it gets.

saturn planet

June 4th Saturn goes retrograde

Saturn will go retrograde in Aquarius on June 4th until October 22, 2022. This will be Saturn’s last retrograde in the sign of Aquarius until June 2050. Saturn governs tradition and rules. Aquarius governs nonconformity and progress. Saturn and Aquarius seemingly have nothing in common. However, Saturn is the ancient ruler of Aquarius, therefore these two opposite energies create something special when they work together. Saturn may be the rule-follower, however, when he is in Aquarius, he memorizes all the rules, so that he knows which ones need to be broken or updated. Saturn retrograde in Aquarius is encouraging us to embrace our inner rebel and release any outdated rules and beliefs that we’ve used to govern our lives. Once we let go of limited beliefs, we rise to new heights.

A note of caution, that when Saturn goes retrograde, the tightest aspect he will be making is a square to Mercury, and Mercury goes direct the day before Saturn goes retrograde. This makes for possible tense interactions in the communication realm. This aspect has the feeling of not seeing eye-to-eye, misunderstandings, or miscommunication, which can lead to anger or frustration. The best way to work with this aspect is to bring patience, humor, and flexibility to our communication spaces.

Goddess Epona

June 14th – Super Full Moon

A super moon is when the moon is closest to earth in her orbit. Since the moon acts as a mirror and reflects the sun’s light, a super full moon acts as an amplified mirror in our personal lives as well as for humanity. With that said, this super full moon underscores the importance of self-reflection. It’s easy to point out and notice actions and behaviors of others that frustrate or anger us. However, have we taken the time to truly look at our own actions and behaviors? This super full moon is like the universe holding up a cosmic mirror for each of us so we can see ourselves more clearly. And when we witness ourselves without judgment, it allows for limitless self-transformation.  The June Full Moon is dedicated to the Goddess Epona, worshipped throughout the entire Celtic world in a variety of other aspects. Often depicted as a woman with very long hair riding upon a white mare. Epona is believed to have the ability to shape-shift between the form of a woman and that of a white mare. When she appeared in the form of a white mare it was believed Epona had special magickal abilities, that allowed her to carry shamans upon her back so that they could travel to the spirit world and safely return once again to the world of human. Often depicted carrying a set of keys to the underworld, Epona could unlock the gates of Heaven, as well as the gates of the Underworld to reveal hidden secrets and truths.   Epona reflected the great mysteries, associated with life, death, and rebirth. This full moon’s influence can help reveal where we have disconnected from ourselves and illuminate the areas where we feel empty.  For those who are members of our online subscription series I have posted a ritual and guided audio meditation to support your journey as you honor the old traditions of celebrating the cycles of the moon.   Click Here

summer solstice

June 20th and 21st – Summer Solstice in the Northern Hemisphere

The word solstice means “sun standing still” and is one of the most powerful times for each us to create the space of stillness within our heart.  Far removed from the distractions of the outside world and the chaotic energies of the multitude of thought forms of fear, doubt, scarcity and lack that surround us.  The illusions created by the Surface Walker in our mind.  This is a time to journey within and connect to the heart of your soul. A time to take stock of where you are and who you are becoming.  We are all part of the same collective current that flows through this Universe and beyond. As we pause to celebrate the turning of the wheel, we need to remember that we are all having the same journey.  We each strive to learn, to grow, to experience life as we try to make sense of the chaos in our world.  The Summer Solstice is the most powerful day of the year to honor the Sun God and celebrate the longest day of the year. All the seeds we planted, and the intentions come into full power.  This is a day and night of magick.  Take out your crystals and charge them in the sunlight.  Soak them in salt and place them on an altar to celebrate this powerful time of magick.  Celebrate the power and energy of the sun which is the source of warmth and light around the world.  We can all use a little more light to illuminate our path as we continue to move into a world we do not yet know. I have posted a ritual and details on how to create a powerful altar to celebrate the turning of the wheel.  CLICK HERE

A little astrological wisdom from our star child.  The tightest aspect at the time of the solstice will be Venus trine Pluto. Venus and Pluto are significant in 2022’s astrology because they are the rulers of the transiting North Node (Venus) and South Node (Pluto).  When the rulers of the North Node (our path of destiny or way forward) and the South Node (what we are releasing) aspect each other, it acts like a cosmic check in point to see where we are at on our personal journeys. This particular check in that Venus and Pluto are doing is considered harmonious because they are trine each other, which means they are in gifted aspect together. There is a flow in how they are relating to each other. This shows that this solstice is a good time to truly nurture yourself by doing what brings you joy and allowing yourself to rest. The journey of walking our paths of destiny is not for the faint of heart, but Venus and Pluto are reminding us that even though the road may be difficult, there are times when we can release struggle and embrace ease.

Summer Solsitce rituals

June 21st – Winter Solstice in the Southern Hemisphere

In the Southern Hemisphere we experience the longest day of darkness.  It is from the state of original chaos, the black void, that the old creatrix goddesses are said to have brought forth all that is. The belief that the world started with the sacred spark of creative potential contained within the primordial womb is one of humanity’s oldest concepts. The birth of the archetypal sun, of The Great Mother on the Winter Solstice brings forth the luminescence from Her dark womb and offers it as a gift of life to the world. This light that retrieves us from the dark of night, the pitch of winter, is a microcosmic recreation of the origination of the universe. The Winter Solstice is an anniversary celebration of creation.  I have posted a ritual for the Southern Hemisphere to celebrate the Winter Solstice.  Click Here

seven sisters

June 24th – Celebration of Matariki

The name “Matariki” means the “Eyes of God”.   Matariki is the M?ori name for the constellation of the seven stars identified as the Pleiades. It has been three years since I have been able to return home to New Zealand so celebrating Matariki will be very special for me as I set intentions that we are able to return soon to my heart home.  For many iwi, the appearance of the Matariki star cluster known as the seven sisters, in the morning sky in mid-winter heralds a new lunar year: a time to get together to look back on the past 12 months, plan for the future, and honor the dead. With lots of good food and drink.  The rising of the Matariki star cluster, was traditionally marked with a ceremony called wh?ngai i te hau tapu, which involved examining the stars to determine the success (or otherwise) of the coming harvest. Clear, bright stars were a good sign, promising a warm, bountiful season, while hazy ones were a harbinger of cold weather and poor crops. A time to experience renewal and an opportunity to reflect on who we are at this moment in time, as we build deeper connections with our whanau (family), both our physical family but also our spiritual family.  Take the time to stand beneath the stars this night and receive the neutrino energy gifted to us at this time.   As we continue to navigate through these times of uncertainty and need more than ever to find our way to remain grounded, centered, and balanced, I thought I would share a special ritual to assist you during challenges that may arise when we allow ourselves to be distracted by others and pulled into their drama.

Personal Energy Protection Charm when you are bombarded by negative  thought forms.

  1. Collect together five tiny twigs from a great standing tall one.
  2. You will need a white ribbon, a white candle and a strand of your hair.
  3. Light the candle saying, “White light surround me, protecting me from outside influences.”
  4. Drip the wax of the candle onto one of the tree twigs and press your hair into it before it dries.
  5. Surround the twig with the others, making a small magickal bundle.
  6. Secure it with the white ribbon saying, “As I will it to be…. so it is.”
  7. Place the protection charm into your handbag or pocket knowing you are divinely protected and shielded from external negative influences.

 June 28th – New Moon

The June moon is a micro new moon in Cancer. A micro moon is when the moon will be the farthest from earth in her orbit. Typically, we can have several micro moons in a year, however, this will be the only micro moon of 2022. This tightest aspect this new moon will be making is a square to Jupiter, which highlights the importance of slowing down, taking our time, finding balance in our lives, and not trying to push or force things to happen. Remember this is the Year of the White Rose with an emphasis on Year of Self Love, Self-Care and Self Nurturing.  This micro new moon and Jupiter emphasize the importance of perspective. Sometimes all it takes to dramatically change a circumstance in our lives is shifting our point of view of it.

This is a powerful time to stand beneath the dark sky and speak your intentions out loud with gratitude and an open heart.  The new moon symbolizes a fresh start providing another opportunity for you to live your best life. It is believed that the new moon is the eyes of the universe that watches everyone’s steps. If you have been praying for clarity, the new moon can open your mind to receive clarity and direction about what to do. If you have become discouraged thinking your dreams will never come true or there appears to be blocks preventing you from moving forward, allow the new moon to be a reminder that everything will be alright if you refuse to give up. With persistence, you will crush your goals, and experience greater success than you ever imagined.

I have posted a new moon ritual for this day.  The universe is always communicating with us, but on June 28th, cosmic communication may be heightened so be sure to pay attention and take time to listen.

Planet Neptune

June 28, 2022 Neptune goes retrograde

Neptune will go retrograde in Pisces on June 28th until December 3, 2022. Neptune will be going retrograde the same day we have the new moon in Cancer. Pisces and Cancer are two of the three water signs, which show that the water element on this day will be amplified. Water in astrology represents intuition, psychic abilities, emotions, and dreams. The tightest aspect that is being made when Neptune goes retrograde is Vesta, the Goddess of Hearth and Home, in Pisces will be trine the Sun and Black Moon Lilith in Cancer. Vesta represents our direct connection to source and the sun and Lilith’s alignment show that this day has a spiritual and otherworldly feel.
