August Planetary Influences

 Leo New Moon

July 31st/August, 1st. New Moon in Leo

Lunar rituals are ancient practices that can help you grow, release and manifest both spiritually and tangibly.  The first new moon after the eclipse cycle in Leo brings a special magick as it is the first of two new moons in the month of August. Research has shown that the body’s internal biological rhythms are controlled by the powerful cues it receives from our natural world. Natural events in our environment, such as the phases of the moon, seasonal temperatures, and the length of the day and night, reflect the cosmic rhythms that our body follows to synchronize its internal biological rhythms. This natural phenomenon of the body to match its internal rhythms with external pulses in the natural environment is known as entrainment. When we engage in a new moon, full moon or Sacred Sabbat ritual our subconscious recognizes and responds to our desires and intentions for manifesting. After the eclipse cycle we are a new expression of ourselves.  We have the heart of the lion and lioness.  This is a powerful night to set new intentions for your most cherished dream.  I have posted a ritual to work with the heart of the lioness on this very special new moon.  This new moon is amplified as it is aligns in the timing of Imbolc in the Southern Hemisphere and Llamas in the Northern Hemisphere.   The energy available to us at this time will be greatly increased.   Click Here

festival of bread

August 1st  – Llamas celebrated in the Northern Hemisphere

The Wheel of the Year begins to shift from a growing time to a harvest time.  The first of three Celtic harvest festivals (the others being Mabon and Samhain), the Festival of Bread and fruit is a time when the Sun God begins to weaken, and the days begin to grow shorter as the nights grow longer. This is a powerful night to be reminded that nothing in the universe is consistent and the lesser begins to give way to the greater.  The Goddess is honored as traditions and rituals for a night of prosperity, abundance and good fortune are performedIt is a time of change as active growth is slowing down and the darker days of winter and reflection are beckoning. This is a night to celebrate in gratitude.  Lammas is a harvest holiday which is celebrated on August 1st in the Northern Hemisphere.  It celebrates the partnership that exists between humans and the divine.   Celebrating this holiday in a small way can align you with the natural world and open you up to all the beauty and blessings this life has to offer. For those who are members of our online subscription series I have added a few rituals to help you celebrate this special turning of the wheel. Click Here

Imbolc blessings

August 1st Imbolc – Southern Hemisphere

There are certain times a year when we have an opportunity to celebrate the earth mother and receive her blessings.  Gateways open at these times giving us moments when our connection to the unseen world allow us to view the rhythm and timing of the goddess in her form as mother nature.   As the sacred wheel turns for the first time since the Winter Solstice we are gifted with one of these magickal moments with the celebration of Imbolc.  Imbolc is the first of three solar ceremonies celebrated to invite the sun back from the shadow. This Mid Winter celebration is a festival of spiritual purification and dedication in preparation for the birth of spring. This is the origin of ‘Spring Cleaning’. The quickening of the seeds of spring within the earth.  Imbolc is a Gaelic word meaning ‘in the belly’ (of the Mother).  Celebrated on August 1st, this day honors the Celtic sun/fire Goddess Brigid known as the triple Goddess of healers, poets, writers, artists, smiths, and craftsman. As the Goddess of Inspiration, she blesses those who bring beauty into the world through music, story and visual expression by gifting inspiration on this night.  I have added a ritual to celebrate Imbolc.  Click Here

Loin's Gate

Lion’s Gate

Every year on the 8th day of the 8th month of the year (August 8th), there is a cosmic alignment called “the Lions Gateway”. The Lions Gateway is a time of increased cosmic energy flowing between the physical and spiritual realms.  It’s called the Lions Gateway because it occurs in the astrological sign of Leo (the Lion). Leo as a Zodiac Sign is associated with the heart center and represents the individualized expression of the Divine.  This gateway is marked by an alignment between the Earth, and the star Sirius.  The star Sirius lines up directly with the pyramids of Giza. When this alignment happens, there is an intense surge of light which awakens DNA, activates the human energy field, and transmits high vibrational frequencies and codes of awakening.  Light codes of ascension, mastery, and evolution from Sirius pour towards Earth as well, aligning yet another level of activation and opportunity for progression on the ascension path.  Leo is associated with royalty. This alignment is seen as a grand awakening.  The moment when a new cycle of Time Creation begins and we are able to  initiate new time lines,  also known as time cycles.   We are able to access these timelines merging all of our experiences into the NOW moment.  The Lions Gateway portal is guarded by two of the Royal Sirian Lions who are known as the “Lions of Yesterday and Tomorrow” in the Sacred texts.  They are the gatekeepers that ensure that only those who are grounded in the Present moment and conscious of their path are able to transit through the portal and create another cycle of life in a conscious way.   For those who are members of our online subscription series I have added a powerful ritual for this majestic celestial alignment.  Click Here

August 11th

Jupiter begins its forward motion after being Retrograde since April 10th.  This is a powerful turning point as the Jupiter goes direct under the influence of the Lion’s Gate which is now closing the gateway.  It will completely close on the 13th.  Jupiter retrograde allows us to see what is blocking us from success. It’s a time to look internally at your strengths, see if you feel your relationship and job are in alignment with your values and even revisit your own philosophy on life to get more clarity.  I always pause on the day a planet begins to move forward once again to review the gifts and wisdom that has come.  This is a powerful night to check in with your heart and see if your heart is smiling and you feel joy when you think of your work or service.  This is a time to acknowledge your grandness.  To be less than who you came here to be serves absolutely NO ONE.

Planet Uranus

August 12th Uranus goes retrograde un January 1st, 2020.  As we spin ever faster towards the Saturn/Pluto Conjunction in early January, Uranus now adds to the support we have from the celestial realms.    Uranus retrograde brings change and excitement to your life without causing upset and chaos. Because of the planetary aspects involved, the change is likely to be very positive and may involve your love life and finances.  Uranus retrograde will induce the internal changes which are necessary to make an external desired change possible.  Often the changes you seek are to allow more personal freedom. This Uranus retrograde lets you process things internally before you manifest the external change once Uranus turns direct.   In astrology. Uranus is the planet of surprise, innovation, revolution and liberation.  Uranus is unique, wild, unpredictable and unusual.   With Uranus transits, we are given a choice: change or die, not a physical death but the death of the spark we carry inside.    Uranus pushes us past the edge comfort, somewhere between order and chaos, where genius, courage and creativity thrive.  Uranus retrograde is going to mix things up for the better and we alone will choose how we are going to work with these energies.  This is it!! Jump in with both feet.

Full Moon in Aquarius

August 15th  Full Moon in Aquarius as the Lion Gate’s Portal closes.  This is a time to expect the unexpected.  Aquarius is the sign of the visionary. With this full moon we are asked to tune into our higher purpose as we look for new ways to merge with our service. The Aquarius full moon will strengthen humanity as a whole  to demand change.  Full moons carry an energy for expanding and growing ideas that are dear to our heart. Aquarius is the highest level of the mental plane (Uranus).  Aquarius is the sign of  the social activist reminding us WE MUST CHANGE.  Aquarius teaches us that by using intuition, knowledge and universal law we can bring our inner world to life. Everything is energy, vibrations, harmonics, light and sound. Aquarius also represents the ancestors and the origins of humans as light beings.  This full moon is dedicated to the Dragonfly, an ancient being that can be invoked to assist us with change and our ancestral lineage to the light beings.  I have posted a Full Moon ritual dedicated to working with this powerful energy of light and will be be posting a guided audio meditation to connect on a deeper level.  Please click here.

New Moon

August 30th  New Moon in Virgo, the second new moon in the month of August,  brings the closest new moon, known as a super moon, of the year.  Virgo is an earth sign, so this is the perfect moon to detox the mind of negative thoughts, detox the emotional body, and detox the physical body. A perfect day to spend in nature.  Take a walk, disconnect from the fast world.  Take a technology break.  If not for the entire day, make a commitment to give yourself an hour to be in nature.  Buy yourself some flowers, work in a garden.  I will be adding a ritual for the Super New Moon.
