Power of the Lunar Eclipse

Eclipse at the time of the

Winter Solstice

I wanted to share with you how rare the event we are having is going to be.  After reviewing a list of eclipses going back 2000 years where a total lunar eclipse occurred on the exact same calendar date as the solstice, the last event was  back in  1638.

The eclipse begins on Tuesday morning, Dec. 21st, at 1:33 am East Coast Time, 10:33 pm West Coast time on  Monday evening, December 20th). and will be visible throughout the United States.  At that time, the Earth’s shadow will appear as a dark-red bite at the edge of the lunar disk. It takes about an hour for the “bite” to expand and swallow the entire Moon. Totality commences at 02:41 am East coast Time (11:41 pm West Coast time) and lasts for 72 minutes.

The significance of this night is the final pieces of our old identity and the things we fear the most of letting go of, will really be  going, willingly or forcibly it is up to us to choose.  Surrender is key as the eclipse energy moves through and our illusions of our current life experience are exposed.    For me it is most significant as I complete the cycle of guardianship here in San Clemente and begin a new journey as an earth star walker.  It seems this has been my journey for the last 14 years but now it takes on a new form.

At the time that Mercury went retrograde for the final time in 2010 on Friday, December 10th I chose to walk the labyrinth at Grace cathedral in San Francisco.   Every time I walk a labyrinth my life changes dramatically.  Each time I have a completely different experience than the time before.  This  experience was most powerful for this turning of the wheel in my life.  As I walked the intricate pattern created as an extension of our soul’s journey, I clearly saw the image of a winged one who had cords tied to the talons.  I watched as beautiful feminine hands,  untied these cords and the great winged one began to soar.  I had walked the labyrinth with the intention that I was asking for courage to walk strong in my faith and to trust completely that the universe would guide me as it always had.   Returning home I began the process of now packing up the collection of my life experiences.  Reviewing ones life as you pack up your belongings brings many memories.  Some items made me laugh; others made me cry as I thought about the different experiences I was grateful for and those souls who no longer walked beside me as they had made their transition or simply gone out of  my life.     I felt the loss of these souls in my life and at the same time  I thought about the wonderful new souls that were now joining my path to support me in realizing my dreams and to carry the message and fulfill my soul’s destiny.  Every aspect of my life had brought someone and something wonderful to my journey.  As this year of the Phoenix Rising from the ashes comes to closure allow yourself the opportunity to embrace all of your emotions, keep nothing inside so that when the wheel turns and we move into the Year of the Rainbow Serpent you are truly ready to dream the new dream,  free of the illusions that bind us to this human experience when we were always intended to soar.

In the midst of packing,  I had a conversation with a dear friend of mine who I lovingly call Cuddle bear.  He shared with me how much our soul loves us…so much that it allows us these wonderful opportunities to grow and expand by creating everything we need for the  journey.   (I thought to myself, geez I wish my soul didn’t love me as much as it does because it has certainly provided numerous opportunities for me to grow and shed the old identity).  Just when I think I am down to the core of my being another layer is revealed.

Full Moon Eclipses intensify everything, but one occurring at the time of the winter solstice gives a whole new meaning to the word intensity.  Now add in the fact that Mercury is spinning right through the final review cycle of the year as well,  and you can be sure you will feel anything but settled.     On December 30th Mercury will begin to move forward marking a period of four weeks where every planet is in forward motion.  Just in time for the first wave of celestial light that will be sent to the planet on 1:1:11.  Anyone wishing to participate in this grand event as we create a circle of light please click here for details. I will be posting more information regarding the Year of the Rainbow Serpent to the website tomorrow so check back for more information.   Happy Winter Solstice, Full Moon, Total Lunar Eclipse.  May it be the beginning of a wondrous year of new dreams.   Love and rainbows, Robbyne
