Fireworks celebration

There is no such thing as an ending….only a pause when we let go of being in control and allow the magick to begin.  The wheel turns on December 21st and we officially and energetically begin 2018 the second year of the nine-year cycle of the Goddess, the Year of Sacred Relationships, Holy Alliances and Divine Partnerships.    We are standing on the threshold of something grand but must have the courage to take a leap of faith and enter the fog.  What we have planted in 2017, the seed of the dream we carry is swirling with energetic potential and has created a whirlwind around us that at times creates uncertainty and confusion.

Don’t be afraid to step into the unknown…be afraid of having not lived life.  The whirlwind creates moments when the veil opens for the one who follows the guidance of their heart but to hear the heart we must give ourselves permission to slow down, be still and enter the silence.   The influences of the celestial bodies throughout the month of December will prepare us to step forward into the beauty of 2018.

December 3rd – Full Moon dedicated to Sara – la – Kali

The final full moon of 2017 will occur on December 3rd and brings the additional power of being a Super Moon in Gemini. At the same time Mercury begins its final retrograde cycle for 2017.  A full moon occurs every 29.5 days and is when the Moon is completely illuminated by the Sun’s rays. It occurs when the Earth is directly aligned between the Sun and the Moon.   A super moon occurs when a new moon or full moon comes closer to the Earth than usual making it appear brighter and closer.   Super moons can cause real physical effects, including larger-than-usual tides. They also trigger extreme behavior.  The Moon is where our feelings live and when she’s full, feelings and energy can be at their peak.  Full Moons bring closure to matters both big and small.  While traveling the heavens and crossing the zodiac constellations the moon is charging herself with the power and qualities of the zodiac sign she is moving through.

The Goddess associated with a Gemini full moon teaches that community depends on pollination from each member.  Myths of Queen Bees, and priestesses who tend their hives and shrines, exist in diverse cultures.  Bees pollinate flowers, which bear fruit and yield seeds in a perpetual cycle of renewal.  The Bee, who is not supposed to be able to fly, is an appropriate symbol for the pollinating nature of Gemini.  The goddesses who are included in Gemini encompass magicians, and shape shifters as well as those who are gifted with words, language and the power of sound.  Gemini goddesses have an air of mystery about them.  Two prominent goddess figures that I work with are Melissa and Sara-la-Kali.

Melissa is the name of the goddess Artemis when she was worshipped as the Queen Bee and honey goddess.  Melissameans “honeybee” in Greek and was also the title given to a high priestess of the goddess Artemis.  Honey was seen as the sacred substance of the goddess, and the honey jar, the pithos, was a symbol of the Divine Feminine as the womb of creation.   Sara-la-Kali, of Sara the Black, is the Goddess of the gypsies. Her shrine is located in the small church of Saintes-Maries-de-la-Mer in southern France.

3 mary's in boat

According to a mysterious legend, the three Marys; Mary Magdalene, Mary Salome and Mary Jacobe were cast adrift in a boat after the crucifixion of Jesus and came to shore at this very sight.  The suppression of the divine feminine began with the lies associated with the Magdalene.  In this year of the Goddess Awakening her presence and voice are felt once again.   The suppression of the feminine ends and a new era is rising.  How appropriate to dedicate the final full moon of this year to Sara, the Dark Madonna.  I have posted a powerful ritual and a guided audio meditation for those who are members of our online subscription series the Moon Ritual and Sacred Sabbat Series to work with this very powerful presence. Mercury goes direct

December 3rd – Final Mercury Retrograde for 2017

We are all influenced when Mercury is in retrograde.  This is the final retrograde for 2017 and will cycle through the month beginning the retrograde motion on December 3, the same night as the Super Full Moon.  It will begin its direct cycle at time of the Solstice.   Mercury rules communication, travel, and contracts.  This retrograde cycle gives us an opportunity to reinvent ourselves as messengers of love.  We can focus on how we can communicate for the Goddess through our service, and in our relationships.  The retrograde provides an opportunity to find our voice.   We are reminded to remain flexible, allow time for extra travel, and avoid signing contracts. Review projects and plans at these times, but wait until Mercury is direct again to make any final decisions.

In January we begin with a brand new series for our online subscription series.   Many of you have subscriptions that will continue until your renewal date.  There is also an opportunity for those of you who wish to join to do so.  Next year I will introduce all new rituals and a different format in alignment with the energy of the 2018 – The Year of Partnership, Alliances and Sacred Relationships.   The teachings and journeys of next year will be dedicated to the Path of the Rose and the teachings that were shared with me after a powerful visitation in Assisi from the Creatrix Goddess Sophia, the Magdalene and Saint Francis of Assisi.  I will be sharing these teachings throughout the year beginning in Austin, Texas in January, Tasmania, Australia in April, Waiheke Island, New Zealand in May and I am currently finalizing a journey and retreat to Assisi, Italy and the Dream Isle of Iona for September and October.  Dates to be announced.  The rituals each month will be created to share the wisdom of the Path of the Rose in sacred ceremony.

New Moon Sagittarius

December 18 New Moon in Sagittarius

The New Moon is a special time when the celestial bodies align, a Sun/Moon conjunction which combines both solar energy (conscious) with lunar energy (receptive) putting us on notice to open up for the guidance that the Goddess has planned.  A time to revisit the intentions and dreams we set the previous month.  Some have come to fruition, some inspired thoughts have gained clarity and momentum, others have dimensioned as we open to more possibilities.  This is the last new moon of 2017 and falls just before the turning of the wheel at the time of the Solstice.  Utilize this powerful time in sacred ritual.  For me ritual is developing a stronger relationship with the Goddess and the foundation of my faith.  Much like a yoga class, a meditation workshop, a spiritual journey, it is my practice and commitment each month to follow the code of the dragon and prepare for the next chapter of my soul’s journey.  I don’t take these gifts lightly as magick happens when you align with the Goddess through sacred ritual.  In ancient times those who followed the Path of the Rose knew that ceremonies performed at significant times of the Moon and changing of the seasons could ensure balance, the natural rhythm and harmony for the world.

This new moon offers us an opportune time to put our faith in love and focus on what’s working, instead of focusing on what is not working.   Trust me, as chaotic as it appears to be in the fast world, the old regimes, business consciousness and political structures are tumbling down.  It is working, we just need to hold on and the Sagittarius new moon reminds us that staying optimistic will take effort and patience but will result in magickal new beginnings.

Remember also that new moons are a time for planting seeds, which you can harvest six months from now.  Sagittarius is the zodiac’s global explorer and this new moon reminds us of the fact that there’s a great big world waiting out there.  Planting an idea under this new moon could start a sweeping new trend by early next summer, when the Sagittarius full moon rolls around.  I have posted a ritual to tap into the energies of this New Moon to refocus our intentions and power.

winter and summer

December 21/22nd – Solstice – Turning of the Wheel

The natural cycle of our earth moves in a magickal rhythm and with the solstice of December we move into the 2018 – The Year of Partnerships, Alliances and Sacred Relationships. In the Northern Hemisphere we will celebrate the Winter Solstice. It is from the state of original chaos, the black void that the old creatrix goddesses are said to have brought forth all that is. The belief that the world started with the sacred spark of creative potential contained within the primordial womb is one of humanity’s oldest concepts. Many cultures see the Goddess not as the sun Herself, but as the mother of the sun. The guiding light of the sun and its cycles. According to Maori myth, the sun dies each night and returns to the cave/womb of the deep to bathe in the maternal uterine waters of life from which he is re-born each morning.  It is on the Winter Solstice, the day when the light begins to lengthen and re-gain power that the archetypal Great Mother gave birth to the sun who is Her son. The great Egyptian Mother Goddess, Isis, gave birth to Her son Horus, the Sun God, on the Winter Solstice. In the Southern hemisphere we celebrate the festival of Litha, the most powerful day of the year for the Sun God.  In ancient times, the Summer Solstice was a fire festival of great importance when the burning of balefires ritually strengthened and nurtured the sun. I have posted rituals of celebration and honoring the earth religion for those who follow the ancient traditions and honor the turning of the sacred wheel at these significant moments in time.  Now more than ever we need to find our connection to the Creatrix Goddess and sacred ritual helps to form a stronger relationship with the Goddess.  Click Here

As the wheel turns we find that Mercury goes direct certainly adding an extra twist of clarity and guidance for those who celebrate and honor the ancient ways honoring the Code of the Dragon.  I find this final Mercury retrograde divinely perfect, beginning on the Full Moon dedicated to Sara the Dark one and ending the retrograde cycle at the time of the turning of the wheel in to 2018.
