"Shaman" (pronounced SHAH-mahn), is a type of medicine man or woman distinguished by the use of journeys to hidden worlds. They are found in every tradition that was aware of the unique relationship that exists between the world of the seen and the unseen. From ancient times, shamans have worked with the spirits of nature for healing, survival, and knowledge. By learning from the plants and animals, from the rocks and mountains, from the winds and waters, and from the sun, moon, and stars, shamans helped their peoples live in harmony with the universe. In a world now out of balance, the way of the shaman can teach how again to respect nature, our Planet, and its inhabitants at a deep spiritual level. The path of a shaman is an approach to life that ties us to our ancient past but moves us forward with purpose and direction and allows each of us to fulfill our destiny. It is a way of breathing life into every experience, appreciating the times of growth and cherishing the souls who cross our path to assist us in our growth. At times these are family and friends, but they are also our greatest adversaries. A Shaman’s Path teaches on a deep soul level that times of challenge are meant to make us stronger. The times of loss are meant to help us appreciate what we have, thus keeping the ego in check. The times of weakness are a reminder of the need to nourish our bodies and our souls, the times of fear are moments to gather more information as to our truth so we are set free of the illusionary world of our societies and cultures. The Lakota have a wonderful saying that they speak at the end of each prayer and ritual, which is Mi Taku Oyasin, meaning, “we are all related”. We as human beings have forgotten this truth and live our lives separate form the natural world, which is our hope, our foundation, and the world that brings us insight, and balance. This one-day workshop is created to pass on the ancient teaching of many cultures and native people who have not lost their connection to the unseen world.
You will learn to open up to the power of communicating with your animal allies. How the stones can speak to us of our past and our future if we learn to listen with our hearts. How the trees and plants can give us strength and healing. How ceremony can restore joy and balance and set our intentions each day for a more joyous journey. We will be working with the Grandmother Wisdom keepers of the North and their teachings. You will learn how to work with Hummingbird medicine to restore the joy and return the childlike magic as well as how to communicate with the faery kingdom. You will learn how to reclaim your power and courage by working with the Black Jaguar, sacred to the Mayan people and you will gain an in depth understanding of the true meaning of the Year 2012, what we are moving towards and why we must change.
You will also be experiencing the wonder of food as it was intended to be a celebration of life itself as we share a fabulous gourmet lunch. Many of you who have experienced the celebrations we do at the house know that when the Chef is working, his creative genius brings the food to life to nurture not only your body but also your spirit. Space is limited, as we will be working in a powerful nature setting and in the faery gardens here at the house, so please RSVP if you are interested in this life changing experience to Robbyne at 949/361-7729. Payment is required in advance to secure your space.
